Digiskin is the brand name of a gadget protection system created by Alro Industrial Design Limited, which was originally founded in Singapore, around 1985. The Digiskin brand is now based in the UK, in London. Digiskin is a machine in kiosk form that, when a gadget such as a mobile phone, MP3, or MP4 player is inserted into it, covers the device with a customizable creative “skin” that both adds style to the gadget and protects it from external damage such as scratches. Digiskin is targeting trendy digital lifestyles, and has operations in both the UK and Singapore.
The modern appearance and touch screen functionality of Microsoft RMS was a major factor for Digiskin’s selection of the Dynamics RMS epos system, which needed to match its modern, trendy brand image. Ricardo Da Silva, Managing Director, said that Dynamics RMS offered the best balance of price and functionality, and its ability to integrate a high-speed chip and pin system was especially important to him.
